The Little Gym Is Constantly Adapting to Meet The Needs of Customers

Since 1976, The Little Gym concept has been helping children enhance their motor skills, build confidence, and learn healthy habits in a fun and safe environment. And while our goal has remained the same for decades, we know how important it is to adapt to new opportunities and challenges.

Recently, we faced our greatest challenge to date — the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we’re proud to say that our The Little Gym family came together and we’re coming out stronger than ever before!

Putting Customers First

Adapting to the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. For the past few months, businesses across the globe have been affected, The Little Gym included. Though things have changed, our commitment to the health and safety of our teams, communities, and families has never wavered.

In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, our locations temporarily suspended in-person classes. However, that didn’t keep our franchise owners from keeping in touch with their students! In addition to our live-streaming and subscription-based classes, many of our franchise owners took it upon themselves to go above and beyond for their families. Through social media, owners and their team members read nightly stories, completed daily check-ins, and even held virtual birthday parties! During such a stressful and confusing time for so many families, we’re so proud of how quickly our locations were able to adapt to new methods of teaching and communicating.

As many locations begin to open according to their state’s guidelines, we’ve implemented additional health precautions to keep everyone who walks through our door safe. Currently, all open Gyms are cleaning and disinfecting the gym environment, lobby, bathrooms, and equipment before, during, and after classes. Locations have also implemented a temporary reduction in class size to encourage social distancing.

What Makes a Good Franchise Owner?

It’s a question we’re often asked: Do I need childcare or gymnastics experience in order to own a The Little Gym? And our answer is, absolutely not! What sets our franchise owners apart from so many others is their commitment to their staff and the families within their community.

Rather than placing an emphasis on professional experience, we look for people who have:

  • Good common business sense.
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • A love for managing and developing a team.
  • A natural ability to build relationships with kids, staff, parents, and their community.
  • An appetite to learn and improve.
