How The Little Gym Provides a Safe Atmosphere for Kids to Exercise and Relieve Stress

To say that this year has been tough for kids (and let’s be honest, parents too) would be an understatement. With kids spending all of their time at home, many families are looking for a space for their little ones to run and play while staying safe. Thankfully, The Little Gyms across the country are laying out their mats and opening their doors for children in need of a place to jump and play.

How The Little Gym Encourages Growth and Development

Our Gyms are cleaned and disinfected throughout the day.

Our first priority here at The Little Gym is safety. From parents and children to our staff, we want everyone who walks through our doors to feel safe and comfortable. Over the past few months, we’ve taken precautions that include cleaning and sanitizing equipment before, during, and after classes, and having smaller class sizes so that children can maintain social distancing.

Children need social interaction.

Regular social interaction is so important for kids — it’s how they develop language and motor skills, understand their sense of self, and learn how to react to different situations. With school, sports, and all other extracurricular activities cancelled these past few months, parents are eager to find safe ways for their children to interact with others.

Kids need time to destress.

Stress is often thought of as an “adult issue,” but that’s not always the case. With their daily routines completely changed and the future somewhat unclear, it’s possible for children of any age to feel stress or anxiety. Here at The Little Gym, we know that one of the best ways to combat stress is with physical activity. Getting up and moving is good for their overall health, can improve their sleep patterns, and can improve their mood.
